Seattle/Tacoma, WA

This past trip we took was extra different because we were able to get away without the kids! Even though we enjoy taking our kids on vacations, and traveling with them, it was definitely nice to travel without having to worry about diaper changes and frequent potty breaks.

This time we went to the west coast (which we haven’t been to in about 5 years). We visited some relatives in Tacoma, WA…and attended a wedding at Point Defiance Rose Garden, which was beautiful! It got a little hot, since the wedding was at 2:30 pm, but the nature and beautiful surrounding distracted us from the heat.

On the third day of our trip, we decided to check out Mt. Rainier. I’ve heard about it, and saw it every time we visited Washington, but never drove there to see it up close. So, finally, we dedicated a day to check that off our list and see what it has to offer. We were not disappointed, as the view was breathtaking!

Our trip was mostly filled with dinner conversations and catching up with people we haven’t seen in ages, but a highlight I want to mention was the Chambers Bay Park that my cousin took us to, on our last day in Washington. We happened to go at the end of the day, and saw the most beautiful sunset! Check out these pictures:

As nice as it was to visit friends and relatives, we did miss our kids a lot, and couldn’t wait to get back and see them. We took a red-eye flight back to Charlotte, hoping to get some sleep on the way back, which was a bad mistake! SEA-CLT flight was way too turbulent to shut an eye.
