Romeo+Juliet (by OperaCarolina)

I had an opportunity to see Romeo+Juliet, performed by the OperaCarolina cast, at the Belk Theater uptown Charlotte. Can I just say – Amazing performance!

I know acting, as well as, singing is a skill that gets perfected over the years, but…acting AND singing, IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE for 3 hours?!?! That’s serious talent.

The entire cast was impressive, and consisted of rising stars, but the main roles of Juliet and Romeo were played by Marie-Eve Munger (Juliet), and Jonathan Boyd (Romeo). The emotions and feelings they both portrayed during the play made the audience feel like we were part of the story!

If OperaCarolina performs this play next year, I definitely recommend seeing it! (I’ll probably be there too)

#BechtlerByNight

Bechtler Museum (Charlotte, NC) started their ‘Bechtler by Night’ series, where every 3rd Friday of the month you can visit for free between 5-9 pm, and receive 10% off discount at the Souvenir store. The series includes different activities each month – such as gallery tours, scavenger hunts and art-making activities.

We went last week (Jan. 15, 2015) and it was packed! The Cafe didn’t have any open seats, and the museum had plenty of visitors at each level. This month Bechtler was featuring Andy Warhol and Sam Francis collections, and we loved seeing both.
